Here are some memes for when conservatives say we are being mean when we pick on Donald Trump, or when they complain that they never protested when Obama was elected.

Donald Trump
I am not even sure where to begin.. While my transition from a middle of the road Independent to a Liberal was fueled by 8 years of Bush dragging our country down the drain, it already in play after McCain and especially Romney, Trump pushed me so far to the Left that it was painful.
His racist rhetoric was reminiscent of Hitler, his temperament was ridiculous, his knowledge of the issues was zero, his plans were only detailed as "Tremendous" with no road given on how to achieve them. In the primaries I just laughed him off as one of the oddballs in the circus that was going on. When he started to gain momentum and his competition started dropping out like flies I became a little nervous but was still doubtful that he would make it to the end. When he received his party's nomination I was dumbfounded to say the least. Out of nearly 40 candidates, this was the best they could come up with?
The guy had no filter (which is why many liked him), they would say "he speaks the truth", which any fact checker would tell you that only about 4% of what he had to say was actually truthful. And he had no self-control over things like his Twitter account at 3am where he would attack women or go off on some off-the-wall rant. When he insulted John McCain by saying that he was not a war hero because he got caught, or when he made fun of veterans with PTSD, or when he engaged in the Trump-Khan feud I figured he would have been dead in the water right there...
When the tape came out with Billy Bush, when women who he assaulted came forward, when the news of him raping a 13 year old girl came out, I thought he was done then too.. When he called Mexican immigrants murderers and rapists, when he would talk about "the blacks", when he would say goofy things like "Hispanic Latinos", or when he called Native American Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren "Pocahontas", or when he made his controversial remarks about a federal judge of Mexican heritage, I thought for sure that he was done.... When it came out about his lawsuit in the 70's for denying Black People from renting his properties and when he was endorsed by the KKK, David Duke and a KKK newspaper, I again thought he was finished. When he would not release his taxes, and we had no idea of his ties for foreign countries like Russia and it came out that he did not pay income tax for 30 years, I thought he was done... When he said he wanted a database of all American Citizens who were Muslim, that for sure had to put a nail in his coffin I thought.. It reminded me of when we rounded up Japanese Americans and put them into camps during WWII.
It seemed like every time he opened his mouth, something sexist or racist came out, there was no way that anyone in their right mind would vote for this guy... But his rallies were huge, albeit a huge sea of "whiteness", but still huge. I figured alright, maybe there are that many people who are either racist or that are not bothered by "a little bit of racism", but I figured that there was no way he could win without the minority vote.
So while I was concerned for our country, I was not too worried about him being elected.
Nate Silver on FiveThirtyEight.com had Trump's odds at just around 30% right before November 8th. That I found to be troubling, they had the odds of the Cubs wining The World Series at less than that.. lol I relied on FiveThirtyEight.com when it came to polls because they took all polls into consideration, ranked them by their past history of accuracy and put them through some type of algorithm to get their results. But again, 30% was actually pretty good odds, far better than I had imagined Donald Trump would have. I thought to myself that it was disturbing that that many Americans could either endorse or overlook his racism. The man was not qualified for the job, he could not even handle his Twitter account which was taken away by his campaign staff, yet he would be in charge of our nuclear launch codes. It just made no sense..
When he was elected, I cannot say that I was shocked, I knew there was a chance. As an American citizen I was probably more embarrassed that he was elected than anything else. Well that and fearful of the direction our country was headed in.
I almost want to say that I believe Trump had no intention of winning, that he did it on a whim just for publicity. What re-enforced that idea was the look on his face after his first meeting with Obama and then his 60 minutes interview. He seemed somber, much more quiet and subdued. Like he was actually scared because he knew he was in over his head and the enormity of the situation hit him like a ton of bricks.
Only time will tell what is in store for America, but he is not even in office yet and has broken more than a half dozen of his campaign promises... I will get into that in another post in the near future.

Welcome to The Libtard
I wasn't always a libtard, I was an Independent who liked much of what both the Republicans and Democrats had to offer. I am a gun owner, I believe in small government and many other qualities that a Republican would have. I also believe that gays should have equal rights, a woman's body is her business not the governments, and other qualities that a Democrat would have. When it came to voting for both local and national elections, I would pick whichever candidates fit most of my requirements, their party was not an issue. The only Independent I have ever voted for was Ross Perot in the 1992 Presidential Election.
Over the past 30 years things have changed. I have seen the Republican Party turn into a party of hate, a party of hypocrisy, a party with no direction. Much of the Republican base seems to be a party with a mix of people that are one issue voters (pro-life, anti-gay, pro-gun, etc) regardless of how ridiculous the candidate was, and there have been some real clowns out there. It just seems like the party cannot get itself together, for this last national election they had close to 40 candidates in the primary. Instead of just having some of their best battle it out, they decided to have some freak show carnival. When I see a candidate like Dr. Ben Carson, I wonder what in the world are people seeing that I am not. I mean the guy was a nutjob for the love of Christ. I did like many of the ideas that Mike Huckabee had both this time that he ran and the time before, but when he chose to defend Kim Davis, he really changed the way I thought of him. He mixed his religion with his politics and that's a no-no for me. He was willing to endorse someone who was denying people their civil rights as a government official. I lost all respect for the man after that.
Then we get to Trump, and his supporters seemed to be the angriest, nastiest group I had ever witnessed in an election. One of the things that drove me crazy was the hypocrisy. If Obama had 5 kids from 3 different wives, did not pay his taxes for 30 years, had said he would "grab women by the P" without their consent, had been accused of child rape, had committed fraud, had denied white people from renting his properties, or basically had said or done even 10% of what Trump did, Conservatives would have a coronary. I'll talk a bit more about Trump in my next post...
Anywhoo, the "Right" has pushed me so far to the "Left" that I am now an off the charts liberal. The racism, the hypocritical behavior, the lack of respect for others that may be different than them, it all just became too much. The Republican party has grown older and "whiter" and has had many religious zealots and racists that have flocked to it. I am now a full-on Libtard for these and many other reason that I will get into with future posts. This blog will have posts about my thoughts on politics, it will have political memes, and news stories that illustrate my frustrations. Feel free to comment on any articles and we can have a discussion.
